Clicker Heroes Can Mercenaries Die Again After You Revive Them

This shows what the Mercenaries tab looks similar.
Mercenaries are piddling helpers that tin can be sent on diverse random quests, to obtain Gold, Rubies, Hero Souls, Relics, additional mercenaries or to activate random skills. Finishing level 139, ascending for the start time or buying a Quick Ascension unlocks the mercenary tab and gives the player a free mercenary. Upwardly to 5 mercenaries tin can exist endemic at a fourth dimension, and in lodge to go new mercenaries later that, a mercenary has to die or be dismissed.
Obtaining Mercenaries
The mercenary tab is unlocked later reaching level 139, after ascending for the first time or by ownership a Quick Ascension. When a player has no mercenaries, they will automatically go ane for free (this will happen instantly if it's a actor'southward starting time mercenary, or information technology will take 8 hours when all of their other mercenaries accept died). Players can get additional mercenaries by either sending an endemic mercenary on an 8 hour quest to get one, or past paying 40 Rubies (400 on mobile) to hire i instantly. While a histrion has v mercenaries, the push button to hire a new ane will exist gone and the mercenary quest will not be included as 1 of the iv quest options. When a player has less than 5 mercenaries, the mercenary quest volition ever exist one of the options.
The mercenary tab volition be locked again after transcending, until the actor freshly reaches zone 139, ascends, or buys a Quick Ascension, though their old mercenaries remain alive and available once unlocked.
Using Mercenaries
Quests
When choosing a quest for an bachelor mercenary, a player volition become four choices, with various specific rewards for random lengths of fourth dimension. Some possible quests may be repeated. Each time a quest is accepted, a new set of quests is created, but until accepting a quest, any mercenary may be sent on the electric current set up. Choosing another available mercenary to a quest may open better quests for a college level mercenary.
The size of a quest reward bonus is based on their rank/level, rarity, and fourth dimension it takes to complete the quest. In one case a quest has been chosen for a mercenary, the quest cannot be stopped or changed until they are finished.
The store purchase Timelapse affects mercenary quests also, subtracting viii, 24 or 48 hours from the quest time. For example, if a player has 15 hours left on a quest and activate an 8 hr Timelapse, they volition now take 7 hours left, while a 24 or 48 hour Timelapse would finish the quest. This tin be repeated as many times equally there are Rubies to fund information technology.
Quest Types
- Recruit new mercenary (only available if a role player does non currently accept v mercenaries, and will ever be 1 of the quest options if it'due south available)
- Relics
- Rubies
- Gold
- Hero Souls
- Skills activation (activates random skills, even those not unlocked yet)
- Clickmas presents (seasonal, always 4 hours)
Duration | Reward compared to a 5 min reward | Efficiency compared to a 5 min advantage |
---|---|---|
5 minutes | 1 | one |
15 minutes | 2.58 | 0.8594 |
30 minutes | 4.67 | 0.7785 |
1 hour | 7.49 | 0.624 |
two hours | 13.13 | 0.5467 |
4 hours | 22.v | 0.4687 |
8 hours | 37.47 | 0.3903 |
i day | 89.99 | 0.3125 |
2 days | 143.98 | 0.25 |
Please remember that not just a mercenary's skill and rarity, but as well their rank affects their effectiveness.
Shorter quests have a much higher reward to time ratio, but require much more micromanaging, and can, in fact, be less efficient, every bit at that place is a bit of delay between, say five-minute quests, as there would be a need to click on the quest. Also, mercenaries only quest offline if the quest is long plenty. (Ane tin do a 48-hour quest, and go offline, while the mercenary quests, but they can't do 288 5-minute quests, even with all 5 of their mercenaries.)
On a Golden quest, the Gold reward will scale to player progress: it starts based on the highest electric current zone, will increase as zones are gained, and reset upon rising, even after the quest is complete. For case, a mercenary that grants 100× Gold in 15 minutes will give 115× Golden if 10 or more zones are to be beaten before collecting. Starting time in i.0, Hero Soul quests as well scale to the Quick Ascension value the aforementioned way, resetting when upon transcension. Gold quests too scale to DPS as well.
Leveling Upwards
All mercenaries start off at level 1 once they are hired.
Every 24 hours of questing becomes 1 level upwards, when the quest advantage is retrieved.
Lvl | Rank | Advantage Multiplier |
---|---|---|
1 | Noob | 1 |
2 | Rookie | 2 |
three | Journeyman | three |

The pattern continues upwards, adding i onto the multiplier and demigod +x for each additional level. With luck and revivals, it's fifty-fifty possible to get to level 25, getting the Infrequent Specimen achievement.
Personal Bonuses
- +% Hero souls
- +% Rubies
- +% number of skills activated
- +% gold
- +% speed to recruit
- + Extra lives
Bonuses just touch on that mercenary and none of the others. Values range between five% to 2000% based on their rarity. Extra lives is special: Instead of a bonus, a mercenary get gratuitous revives, though a player tin can withal spend Rubies to revive instead. Information technology can but appear on mercenaries of rarities Rare and upwardly, and counts up instead of multiplying.
Below is a list of how each rarity influences personal bonus. There are 8 tiers to the rarity that each mercenary tin go, just like Relics:

Losing Mercenaries
Sometimes players lose 1 or multiple mercenaries. If all of a player's mercenaries are buried or dismissed, the game will automatically start an 8 60 minutes timer to hire a new i.
Dismissal
Only a maximum of 5 mercenaries can be kept at a fourth dimension, so a player may want to get rid of a mercenary voluntarily to gratis up space for a new one. This can be done past dismissing it. A dismissal button is available by holding (ctrl) or (shift). When a mercenary is dismissed, information technology volition be released instantly, without having to wait.
Dismissal is extremely inefficient and almost never should be done. Notwithstanding, if the mercenary is really low level or just terrible in general, it may be worth it to dismiss information technology to go a better mercenary.
Expiry
A role player tin can too unwillingly lose a mercenary, when it dies. When a mercenary has died, either Rubies can be paid to revive information technology, depending on its level, or it tin be buried to go golden.
Burial Gold = ten × monster reward of (Pre-Transcendent HZE + 1)
Required amount of Rubies to revive = 10 + ceil(1.5level)
On mobile the corporeality is multiplied by x. So reviving a level ane mercenary would cost 120 Rubies and reviving a level twenty mercenary would cost 33360 Rubies.

See here to notice out whether or not a mercenary is worth reviving.
A mercenary death is not random. Their lifespan is predetermined from birth, with a specific lifespan, cumulative through whatever number of quests, and in that location is no manner to change that. On boilerplate, every mercenary will live for near iv.v days of questing, though particularly lucky or unlucky ones can range from as little equally one second to as long as many years. A new lifespan is generated every time a mercenary is revived, with no relation to the last.

Notes
- Mercenaries were added in Patch 0.23.
- In Patch 0.24, mercenary achievements were added.
- Mercenaries were overhauled in Patch 0.25.
- Label Makers change the name of a mercenary to a random i. This helps get the Leeroy Jenkins achievement. On rare cases, the proper name will not change since the random name is the same as the current one.
